EMA 4145 Physical Ceramics 2 Spring 2007

Course Description: The basic physical, chemical and mathematical principles of ceramic conductors, dielectrics and ferroelectrics and their applications are discussed. Emphasis is placed on structure-processing-microstructure property relationships. (3 Credit Hours)

Course Objectives: Introduce the student to the defects in ceramics, as well as the optical, electrical, dielectric, and magnetic properties of ceramics, and relate these properties to the physical, chemical and structural aspects of ceramics introduced in Physical Ceramics 1.
